On The Weekend Agenda: Animal-Inspired Works of Art, Handmade Goods, and Football…

It’s overcast, cool, and, well…positively fallish out there. It’s the kind of weather that puts a spring in my step, makes me want to bake a pie, go on long walks, and watch some football (well not really on the football, but I wanted to throw my husband a bone).

It also makes getting out and about with the littles in tow far more enjoyable, so in between whipping up baked goods, we’re planning to hit the DMA for some Legacy of the Plumed Serpent themed Studio Creations (side note: Pete wrote an excellent review of the Plumed Serpent exhibit) and visit the Dallas Flea to check out the goodness. (Plus a little birdie told me that this Flea will feature more kid vendors than any previous one.)

Studio Creations at DMA
Saturday and Sunday, September 15 & 16
1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Look closely at designs and animal motifs on the objects in The Legacy of the Plumed Serpent in Ancient Mexico and then create your own animal-inspired, wearable work of art in the studio.
